As an IT administrator with over 20 years of experience, I have to say that there are few things that really scare me on a day-to-day basis. Computer systems are far less complex than people, and I do have to say that they are typically pretty easy to operate. They can take instructions well, and pretty much do what you want them to do. But if there is one thing that actually brought the fear of God into me lately it was a situation in which I had a server that needed raid recovery. When such a situation happens to you, you’ll definitely know it. The intensity alone is enough to give even the most experienced guy a real run for his money. But I did remember one piece of sage advice that an old administrator told me: if you find yourself in a raid data recovery situation, calling a professional. It’s really the only thing you can do.
